Position: Package Handler
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently load, unload, and sort packages in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Utilize manual and automated equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and conveyors to move packages
- Sort and organize packages based on destination and delivery schedule
- Perform quality checks on packages to ensure accuracy and compliance with shipping labels and delivery instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and deadlines
- Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies with packages to the appropriate department or supervisor
- Assist with inventory management by accurately scanning, tracking, and recording packages
- Continuously strive to improve processes and suggest ideas for increasing efficiency and productivity
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds
- Familiarity with operating manual and automated equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and conveyors
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when needed
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software applications
