Our organization is dedicated to promoting marine conservation and educating the public about the importance of preserving our oceans. As a Marine Education Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing educational programs and resources to engage and inspire students and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement educational programs and resources focused on marine conservation, targeting various age groups and audiences.
• Collaborate with team members to create engaging and interactive activities, workshops, and events that align with our mission and goals.
• Conduct research and stay up-to-date with current marine conservation issues, trends, and best practices in education.
• Organize and facilitate field trips and hands-on learning experiences to marine habitats, such as beaches, tide pools, and aquariums.
• Coordinate and schedule school visits and outreach events to promote marine conservation and educate students about marine ecosystems.
• Create educational materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and educational videos, to support our programs and initiatives.
• Collaborate with community partners and organizations to expand our reach and impact in promoting marine conservation.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of our educational programs and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements.
• Assist in grant writing and fundraising efforts to support our educational initiatives.
• Mentor and train volunteers and interns to support our educational programs and events.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in marine biology, environmental science, education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in marine education, conservation, or outreach.
• Strong knowledge and passion for marine conservation and environmental issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and educate diverse audiences.
• Proven experience in developing and delivering educational programs and resources.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and educational technology tools.
• Experience in grant writing and fundraising is a plus.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
