Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage a team of dispatchers, providing guidance and support to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
Monitor and prioritize incoming orders, assigning them to the appropriate drivers and vehicles
Coordinate with drivers and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
Develop and implement dispatch schedules and routes to optimize delivery times and reduce costs
Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including tracking orders, updating delivery status, and documenting any delays or issues
Monitor driver performance, providing feedback and coaching when necessary
Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations
Identify areas for improvement and implement process changes to increase efficiency and productivity
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for dispatch team members

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in logistics or related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dispatch or logistics role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards success
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatch software
Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation laws
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
