Overview: Construct Essentials is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Manager to join our team. As the Materials Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire materials management process, from sourcing to delivery. Your main goal will be to ensure that all construction projects have the necessary materials in the right quantities and at the right time to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement materials management strategies and processes to support the company’s objectives
• Source and procure materials from various suppliers, negotiating the best prices and terms
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and reliable delivery of materials
• Monitor inventory levels and track material usage to identify and address any potential shortages or overages
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to determine material requirements for each project
• Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine the most efficient and cost-effective materials to use
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations in the handling and storage of materials
• Develop and maintain materials management policies and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all projects
• Conduct regular audits of materials and inventory to identify any discrepancies and take corrective actions
• Manage a team of materials coordinators and warehouse staff, providing guidance and support as needed
• Continuously seek out new materials and suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in materials management in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and their sources
• Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Solid understanding of safety and environmental regulations
• Proficient in using materials management software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
