Job Description: Fiesta College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in assisting students in achieving their academic and career goals. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive academic counseling and support to a diverse population of students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group academic advising sessions to assist students in creating academic plans that align with their career goals.
• Provide guidance to students on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies and procedures.
• Monitor and track students’ academic progress, and intervene when necessary to ensure timely degree completion.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support students’ academic success and address any academic challenges.
• Assist students in identifying and applying for scholarships, internships, and other academic opportunities.
• Organize and facilitate workshops and information sessions to educate students on academic resources and strategies for success.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in academic advising, and make recommendations for improvements to the advising program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in academic advising, preferably in a higher education setting.
• Strong knowledge of academic policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
• Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Familiarity with student information systems and advising software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Passion for helping students achieve their academic and career goals.
