Location: Buffalo, New York, United States
Job Type: Contract to hire
Salary: Based on experience
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our company's data architecture. You will work closely with our IT team to ensure that our data systems are secure, efficient, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the overall data architecture for our organization
- Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and data flow diagrams
- Analyze and assess our current data infrastructure and make recommendations for improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop and implement data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity and security
- Identify potential data sources and ensure that data is collected, stored, and retrieved in an accurate and timely manner
- Conduct data quality checks and troubleshoot data issues
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data management and analytics
- Provide guidance and support to data analysts, database administrators, and other team members
- Participate in data governance meetings and communicate data-related updates to stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of database design, data warehousing, and data modeling principles
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server)
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Certified Data Management Professional, Certified Data Architect) are a plus.
