Job Title: Correspondent

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Correspondent to join our dynamic team. As a Correspondent, you will be responsible for gathering, researching, and reporting on current events, news, and stories for various media outlets. You will use your strong writing and communication skills to deliver accurate, engaging, and timely news stories to our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct extensive research and gather information on local, national, and international news stories
• Develop and maintain a network of reliable sources for breaking news and exclusive stories
• Write and edit news stories, articles, and reports for print, online, and broadcast media
• Conduct interviews with newsmakers, experts, and other relevant individuals
• Attend press conferences, events, and other important gatherings to gather information and report on them
• Use various media platforms, including social media, to share news stories and engage with the audience
• Stay up-to-date with current events, market trends, and industry developments
• Collaborate with other team members, including editors, producers, and photographers, to ensure the accuracy and quality of news stories
• Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines for journalism and reporting
• Meet tight deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Correspondent or in a similar role
• Proven track record of breaking news and delivering accurate, engaging, and timely news stories
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong command of grammar and AP style
• Strong research and investigative skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in using various media platforms, including social media, for news reporting
• Knowledge of current events, market trends, and industry developments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
• Willingness to travel for assignments and cover breaking news on short notice
