Key Responsibilities:

Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to identify potential authors and publications to acquire
Build and maintain relationships with authors, agents, and industry professionals
Evaluate manuscripts and proposals to determine their potential for publication
Negotiate and secure contracts with authors and agents
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop strategies for promoting acquired publications
Work closely with authors throughout the editing process to ensure the highest quality of content
Manage project timelines to ensure timely publication of acquired works
Monitor and analyze sales and market data to make informed decisions on future acquisitions

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in acquisitions editing or a related role in the publishing industry
Proven track record of successfully acquiring and publishing manuscripts
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of market trends and the publishing industry
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant publishing software
Passion for literature and storytelling
