Job Title: Cashier

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling all transactions at the checkout counter. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
• Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions
• Handle returns and exchanges in a timely and courteous manner
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Assist customers with any inquiries or concerns
• Promote and upsell products or services to customers at the checkout
• Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with company policies
• Count and balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift
• Follow inventory control procedures to prevent loss or theft
• Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and provide exceptional customer service
• Adhere to all safety and security procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
• Basic math skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach frequently

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced retail environment
• Exposure to various weather conditions if working in an outdoor store
• Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals
