Job Title: Funeral Director

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Funeral Director to join our team. As a Funeral Director, you will be responsible for assisting families in planning and arranging funeral services for their loved ones. This role requires a high level of empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with families to discuss funeral service options and make arrangements based on their needs and budget
• Coordinate with clergy, cemetery staff, and other service providers to ensure a smooth and seamless funeral service
• Help families with the selection of caskets, urns, and other funeral merchandise
• Prepare and file all necessary legal documents such as death certificates, permits, and insurance claims
• Arrange for transportation of the deceased to the funeral home and the final resting place
• Oversee the preparation of the deceased for viewing and assist with dressing and casketing if needed
• Provide guidance and support to families during the grieving process
• Assist with the planning and execution of memorial services and visitations
• Maintain accurate records of all services provided and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Manage the funeral home's inventory and order necessary supplies as needed
• Collaborate with other funeral home staff to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to families
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve service offerings

Qualifications:

• Must possess a degree in Mortuary Science and be a licensed Funeral Director
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the funeral industry
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle sensitive and emotional situations with empathy and professionalism
• Proficient in funeral software and computer applications
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to funeral services
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings
