Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the harvest process, including scheduling, staffing, and equipment maintenance
Collaborate with farmers to develop a harvest plan, taking into account weather conditions, crop maturity, and harvesting techniques
Ensure that all harvesting equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition
Monitor the quality of harvested crops and implement measures to improve quality, yield, and efficiency
Hire, train, and manage a team of harvesters, providing guidance and support to ensure a safe and productive work environment
Maintain accurate records of harvest data, including crop yields, labor hours, and equipment usage
Communicate with other departments, such as sales and logistics, to coordinate the timely delivery of harvested crops
Monitor harvest costs and implement cost-saving measures when possible
Stay current on industry trends and advancements in harvesting techniques, and make recommendations for improvement to management
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a large-scale farming operation
Strong knowledge of crop production, harvesting techniques, and equipment
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak harvest season
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
