Job Title: Community Safety Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Safety Specialist to join our team. As a Community Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. You will be responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols, conducting trainings, and collaborating with various stakeholders to promote a safe and secure environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to mitigate potential risks and ensure the safety of the community.
• Conduct regular safety assessments and inspections of community spaces to identify potential hazards and address any safety concerns.
• Work closely with community leaders and members to raise awareness about safety issues and promote a culture of safety.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other external partners to develop emergency response plans and coordinate safety efforts.
• Plan and conduct safety trainings for community members, staff, and volunteers to ensure they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond to emergencies.
• Monitor and analyze crime and incident data to identify patterns and trends that may impact the safety of the community.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations and agencies to enhance safety efforts and support community safety initiatives.
• Respond to safety incidents and emergencies, providing timely and appropriate interventions and support.
• Serve as a liaison between the community and law enforcement, providing guidance and support to community members and assisting with investigations as needed.
• Stay up-to-date on safety regulations, laws, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuously improve safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community safety, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Experience conducting safety assessments and developing emergency response plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
