Job Title: Dairy Farm Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Dairy Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dairy farm. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of dairy farming practices, and a passion for producing high-quality dairy products. This is a hands-on role that requires a candidate who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and lead by example.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the dairy farm operations, including herd management, milking, feeding, breeding, and health care of cows.
• Develop and implement farm plans and protocols to ensure the efficient production of high-quality milk.
• Monitor and maintain herd performance, including milk production, milk quality, and reproductive performance.
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the farm, including facilities, equipment, and pastures.
• Manage a team of farm workers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Keep detailed records of herd performance, milk production, and farm expenses.
• Work closely with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other industry professionals to optimize herd health and productivity.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to dairy farming.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, buyers, and other stakeholders in the dairy industry.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in dairy science, animal science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in dairy farming, with at least 2 years in a management role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of dairy farming practices, including herd management, milking, feeding, and health care.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and perform manual labor as needed.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong record-keeping and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations related to dairy farming.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with farm management software and technology is a plus.

Working Conditions: The Dairy Farm Manager will work primarily on the farm, which includes outdoor work in all weather conditions. The position may also require occasional travel to attend industry conferences or meetings. The candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
