Position: Public Policy Director

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Policy Director to join our team. As a Public Policy Director, you will be responsible for leading and developing strategies that influence public policy at the local, state, and federal levels. You will work closely with government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to advance our organization's mission and goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the political landscape and be able to navigate complex policy issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to influence public policy at all levels of government
• Monitor legislation and regulatory changes that impact our organization and develop responses to ensure our interests are represented
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and other advocacy organizations
• Conduct research and analysis to support policy positions and develop policy recommendations
• Represent our organization at meetings, hearings, and other events related to public policy
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between policy priorities and organizational goals
• Develop and manage budgets related to public policy initiatives
• Communicate with the media and the public to raise awareness of our organization's policy positions
• Stay current on political and policy trends and provide updates to the organization's leadership team
• Lead a team of policy professionals and provide mentorship and guidance as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in public policy, government relations, or a related field
• Strong understanding of the legislative process and experience influencing public policy
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex policy issues to diverse audiences
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic plans
• Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct research and analysis to inform policy positions
• Experience managing budgets and leading teams
