Position: Timber Craftsman

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Timber Craftsman to join our team. As a Timber Craftsman, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, custom-made wooden products using a variety of hand and power tools. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with wood and has a strong attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands and has a creative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure and cut wood to specified sizes and shapes using various tools such as saws, chisels, and planes
• Assemble wooden pieces to create furniture, cabinetry, or other custom-made products
• Sand, stain, and finish wood surfaces to achieve desired appearance
• Operate woodworking machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, or written instructions to determine project requirements
• Collaborate with clients to design and create custom pieces according to their specifications
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored
• Inspect finished products for quality and make necessary adjustments
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in woodworking is preferred
• Proven experience as a Timber Craftsman or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of woodworking tools and equipment
• Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, or written instructions
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy pieces of wood
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients and team members
