Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain all navigation and communication equipment on board the vessel
Ensure compliance with all maritime laws, regulations, and safety protocols
Plan and execute safe navigation routes, taking into consideration weather conditions, traffic, and potential hazards
Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper stowage and handling procedures are followed
Conduct regular inspections of the vessel's machinery, equipment, and systems, and report any issues to the captain or chief engineer
Participate in drills and emergency procedures, including fire and abandon ship drills
Maintain accurate records of all activities, including cargo manifests, logbooks, and maintenance reports
Train and supervise junior crew members, ensuring they are following proper procedures and safety protocols
Maintain a clean and organized living quarters and common areas on board the vessel
Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid seafarer's book and STCW certification
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a seafarer, preferably on a similar type of vessel
Excellent understanding of maritime laws, regulations, and safety protocols
Proficient in the use of navigation and communication equipment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Physically fit and able to perform duties in all weather conditions and at sea for extended periods of time
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work long hours and be away from home for extended periods of time
