Job Title: Multimedia Journalist

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multimedia Journalist to join our team. As a Multimedia Journalist, you will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging content across various platforms such as print, digital, and social media. You will work closely with our editorial team to research, write, and produce news stories, features, and multimedia content for our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, write and produce multimedia content including news stories, features, and videos for print, digital, and social media platforms
• Conduct interviews and gather information from various sources to develop accurate and well-researched stories
• Collaborate with the editorial team to brainstorm ideas, pitch stories, and contribute to editorial planning
• Utilize various storytelling techniques to create visually appealing and engaging content
• Capture high-quality photos and videos to enhance the storytelling process
• Edit and package multimedia content using various software and tools
• Ensure all content meets editorial standards and guidelines for accuracy, fairness, and quality
• Stay updated with current events and trends to identify newsworthy stories and provide unique angles for coverage
• Build and maintain relationships with sources, industry professionals, and community members
• Monitor and analyze audience engagement with content and use data to inform content creation strategies
• Adhere to strict deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Collaborate with other departments such as marketing and social media to promote content and engage with our audience
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in multimedia journalism to continuously improve the quality and impact of our content

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in multimedia journalism, preferably in a fast-paced news environment
• Excellent writing, storytelling, and editing skills with a strong command of AP style
• Proficient in multimedia content creation, including writing, photography, videography, and video editing
• Experience with content management systems, video editing software, and social media platforms
• Knowledge of current events, news, and trends
• Strong research and investigative skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings and weekends when necessary
