Data Security Analyst

Title: Data Security Analyst

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Security Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting our organization's sensitive data from potential threats and ensuring compliance with data security regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security measures, monitor data access and usage, and respond to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data security, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and guidelines to safeguard against potential threats and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Monitor data access and usage to identify and respond to potential security breaches.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to assess security risks and implement appropriate controls.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging data security threats and industry best practices, and make recommendations for improving data security.
• Create and maintain documentation related to data security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
• Provide training and support to employees on data security best practices.
• Participate in incident response and investigations, and assist in developing remediation plans.
• Liaise with external organizations, such as regulatory agencies and third-party vendors, to ensure compliance with data security requirements.
• Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning related to data security.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in data security, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of data security principles, practices, and technologies, including firewalls, encryption, and access control.
• Experience with security assessment tools and techniques, such as vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
• Familiarity with relevant data security regulations, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are a plus.
