Job Title: Farm Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Manager to oversee our agricultural operations and ensure the efficient and profitable production of crops and livestock. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture and a passion for sustainable and ethical farming practices. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires both hands-on work and strategic planning to maintain and improve the productivity and sustainability of our farm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the farm, including crop production, livestock care, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Develop and implement effective farming strategies to maximize yields, minimize costs, and maintain the health and well-being of crops and livestock.
• Plan and oversee the planting, harvesting, and selling of crops, as well as the breeding, feeding, and selling of livestock.
• Monitor and maintain the health and quality of crops and livestock, including disease prevention, pest control, and nutrition management.
• Manage and train a team of farm workers, providing guidance and support while also delegating tasks and ensuring the safety and efficiency of their work.
• Oversee the maintenance and repairs of equipment, buildings, and other infrastructure on the farm.
• Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure the farm operates within financial targets.
• Keep up-to-date with industry developments and implement new technologies and practices to improve the farm's productivity and sustainability.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on farm activities, including crop yields, livestock performance, and financial data.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to food safety, environmental protection, and animal welfare.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in farm management, preferably in a similar setting.
• Strong understanding of crop and livestock production, including sustainable and ethical farming practices.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization, and pest control methods.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor as needed.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
