Job Title: Telecommunications Technician

Position Overview: Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various communication systems, including telephone, internet, and cable services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of telecommunications equipment and technology, as well as excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and systems, including telephone, internet, and cable services, in residential and commercial settings
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing communication systems, including identifying and repairing faulty equipment and network connectivity problems
• Conduct site surveys to determine the best placement and configuration of equipment for optimal performance
• Install and configure new equipment, such as routers, switches, and modems, as well as perform necessary software upgrades and updates
• Test and analyze the performance of communication systems to ensure optimal functionality and troubleshoot any issues that arise
• Keep accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks, including documenting changes made to equipment and systems
• Provide technical support to customers, including answering questions and assisting with troubleshooting over the phone or in person
• Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and project managers, to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects and tasks
• Keep up-to-date with advancements in telecommunications technology and equipment, and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades as needed

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training or certifications in telecommunications preferred
• Previous experience as a Telecommunications Technician or related role, with a strong understanding of telecommunications equipment and technology
• Familiarity with a variety of communication systems, such as PBX, VoIP, and cable services
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and find solutions to complex issues
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in confined spaces as required
