About the Role: UnityHub Civic Organization is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers for our organization. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and impactful experience for our volunteers while helping us achieve our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment, including posting opportunities on various platforms and reaching out to potential volunteers through networking and community events
• Conduct volunteer interviews and orientations to ensure a thorough understanding of our organization and their role within it
• Create and maintain a database of volunteers, including their interests, skills, and availability, to effectively match them with appropriate opportunities
• Train and supervise volunteers, providing support and guidance as needed to ensure they have a positive and fulfilling experience
• Plan and organize volunteer appreciation events to recognize the contributions and dedication of our volunteers
• Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and develop volunteer positions that align with organizational goals
• Monitor and evaluate volunteer activities, providing regular reports to management on the impact and effectiveness of volunteer programs
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in volunteer management, implementing new strategies as needed to continuously improve our volunteer program

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in volunteer management or a related role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using volunteer management software is preferred
• Passion for our organization’s mission and a strong commitment to volunteerism and community engagement
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
