Position: Sporting Goods Specialist

Overview: As a Sporting Goods Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and expertise in all areas of sporting goods. You will play a vital role in assisting customers in finding the right products for their needs, as well as promoting and selling products to drive sales and meet company goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports and a deep knowledge of sporting goods equipment, apparel, and accessories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide a warm, welcoming environment in the sporting goods department
• Assist customers in finding the right products for their needs, providing product knowledge and advice
• Utilize strong sales techniques to promote and sell products, meeting and exceeding sales targets
• Maintain a clean and organized department, ensuring shelves and displays are fully stocked and visually appealing
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
• Keep up-to-date with new products, trends, and technologies in the sporting goods industry
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a timely and professional manner
• Collaborate with team members to achieve department and company goals
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving products as needed
• Conduct regular price checks and ensure accurate pricing and signage throughout the department
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, to ensure a safe and secure working environment
• Continuously strive to improve customer satisfaction and drive sales by providing exceptional service and expertise

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in sports management or related field is an asset
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a retail environment, preferably in the sporting goods department
• Excellent customer service and sales skills
• Strong knowledge of various sports and sporting goods equipment, apparel, and accessories
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and team members
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the business
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
• Physically able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
• Passion for sports and a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and products
