Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers in a friendly and approachable manner, offering assistance and product recommendations
Maintain a strong knowledge of our book and music inventory, including new releases, bestsellers, and customer favorites
Utilize effective sales techniques to promote and sell books and music products, including cross-selling and upselling
Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system
Assist with restocking shelves and maintaining visual merchandising standards
Keep the store clean and organized, including dusting, sweeping, and organizing displays
Provide support to the management team with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and reordering products
Attend training sessions and product knowledge seminars to continually improve your knowledge and expertise in books and music
Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and escalate any issues to the management team as needed
Meet and exceed sales goals and targets set by the store manager
Maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude, contributing to a fun and engaging work environment

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous retail and/or sales experience preferred, with a strong knowledge and passion for books and music
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
