Job Title: Funeral Services Coordinator

Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and organized individual to join our team as a Funeral Services Coordinator. As a coordinator, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to families during their time of loss. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate with families to understand their needs and preferences for funeral arrangements
• Coordinate and schedule funeral services, including visitations, burials, and cremations
• Collaborate with funeral directors to ensure all necessary documents and permits are obtained
• Prepare and distribute obituaries, service programs, and other funeral-related materials
• Assist with the selection and ordering of caskets, urns, and other funeral merchandise
• Coordinate with clergy, musicians, and other service providers to ensure a smooth and meaningful service
• Provide support to grieving families, including assisting with memorial donations and thank you notes
• Maintain accurate records of all services and expenses for billing and reporting purposes
• Oversee the maintenance and appearance of the funeral home, chapel, and reception areas
• Ensure all services are conducted in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred
• Previous experience in the funeral industry or customer service field is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations with compassion and professionalism
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
