Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and experiments to develop new plastics materials for our products
• Analyze and improve the performance of existing materials
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and develop materials to meet those needs
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in plastics materials
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure materials are suitable for production
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to source materials
• Conduct quality control tests on materials to ensure they meet specifications
• Troubleshoot any issues with materials and provide solutions
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all research and experiments
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and project teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of polymers and plastics, including their properties and processing
• Experience with various testing methods and equipment for materials analysis
• Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis
• Understanding of product development processes and stage-gate systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in computer software for data analysis and visualization
