Position: Sustainability Program Manager

Location: Ísafjörður, Iceland

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Program Manager to join our team. As the Sustainability Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sustainable practices within our organization. Your passion for sustainability and proven project management skills will drive our efforts towards becoming a more environmentally and socially responsible company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead our organization's sustainability program, including setting goals, creating strategies, and monitoring progress
• Conduct research and analysis to identify areas where our company can improve its environmental and social impact
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into all aspects of our operations, from sourcing and supply chain management to product development and packaging
• Establish and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to advance our sustainability initiatives
• Oversee the tracking and reporting of sustainability metrics, providing regular updates to senior management and relevant departments
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure our sustainability program remains current and effective
• Develop and implement employee training programs to increase awareness and understanding of sustainability practices within the company
• Manage the budget for sustainability projects and initiatives, ensuring resources are used efficiently and effectively
• Communicate our sustainability efforts to both internal and external audiences, including creating marketing materials and participating in industry events and conferences

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability program management, preferably in a corporate setting
• Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing sustainability initiatives
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Knowledge of sustainability standards, regulations, and reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, CDP, SDGs)
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with advanced knowledge of Excel and other relevant software
• Passionate about sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment and society
• Ability to think creatively and strategically to drive continuous improvement in sustainability practices
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to embrace sustainability initiatives
• Willingness to travel as needed to engage with external partners and stakeholders
