Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fabric Development Manager to join our dynamic team. As the Fabric Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and sourcing of high-quality fabric materials for our company's products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of fabric samples and the selection of the best materials for our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabric development and sourcing, excellent project management skills, and a passion for innovation and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and sourcing of fabric materials for our company's products
• Collaborate with design, production, and sourcing teams to understand fabric requirements and develop sourcing strategies
• Identify and establish relationships with fabric suppliers and negotiate pricing, lead times, and quality standards
• Source and evaluate new fabric materials in line with the latest trends, innovations, and sustainability standards
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fabric samples and materials for approval and production
• Conduct thorough fabric testing and evaluation to ensure quality and performance standards are met
• Monitor and analyze fabric market trends, prices, and availability to inform sourcing decisions
• Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot any fabric-related issues and provide solutions
• Manage the fabric development budget and ensure cost-effective sourcing practices
• Develop and maintain accurate fabric sourcing and testing records and reports
• Stay updated on industry developments and innovations in fabric technology and sustainability practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fabric Development, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabric development and sourcing, preferably in the fashion or textile industry
• Strong understanding of fabric properties, construction, and sourcing processes
• Proven track record of successful fabric sourcing and development projects
• Experience in negotiating with suppliers and managing supplier relationships
• Knowledge of fabric testing methods and standards
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
• Passion for sustainability and knowledge of sustainable fabric practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and fabric sourcing software
