Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Library Director to join our team at Book Haven Libraries. As the Library Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations, programs, and services of our library. You will lead a team of dedicated library professionals and work closely with the community to ensure that our library meets the needs of our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve library services and meet the changing needs of the community.
• Manage the library's budget and resources, including materials, technology, and staff.
• Supervise and mentor a team of librarians and support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality library services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and local government agencies to promote the library and its services.
• Plan and coordinate library programs and events for patrons of all ages, including book clubs, author visits, and educational workshops.
• Stay current with trends and advancements in library services and technology, and implement new initiatives as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure the library's services align with the overall goals and objectives.
• Oversee the selection and acquisition of library materials, ensuring a diverse and relevant collection for patrons.
• Maintain the library's physical space and ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons.
• Create and implement policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the library.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a library setting.
• Strong knowledge of library operations, including budgeting, collection development, and programming.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, patrons, and community partners.
• Ability to effectively manage and lead a team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
• Knowledge of current library trends, technology, and best practices.
• Passion for providing excellent library services and promoting literacy and education in the community.
