Job Title: Livestock Production Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Livestock Production Specialist to join our team. As a Livestock Production Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and activities related to the production and management of livestock. This position requires a strong background in animal husbandry, as well as excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of livestock production, including breeding, feeding, healthcare, and maintenance of facilities
• Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of livestock, ensuring proper nutrition and veterinary care
• Develop and implement effective herd management strategies to optimize production and performance
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address any maintenance or safety concerns
• Manage inventory and supplies, including feed, medications, and equipment
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to livestock production, including breeding, health, and production data
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in animal husbandry to continuously improve production practices
• Train and supervise farm workers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to biosecurity protocols to prevent the spread of diseases
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement sales strategies for livestock products and services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in livestock production, preferably in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and healthcare practices
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in using computer programs and software related to livestock management
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including exposure to outdoor weather conditions and handling of livestock
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
