Overview: MarketTrend Provisions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Merchandising Specialist to join our growing team. As a Merchandising Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving sales and increasing profitability by effectively managing the company's product inventory and ensuring that products are strategically placed and visually appealing to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop merchandising strategies in collaboration with the sales and marketing teams to effectively showcase products and drive sales.
• Conduct market research and analyze consumer buying trends to identify opportunities for new products and product placement.
• Create and maintain product assortment plans based on customer demand, sales data, and inventory levels.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, logistics, and finance, to ensure timely and accurate inventory management.
• Develop and communicate planograms and visual merchandising guidelines to retail stores to ensure consistency across all locations.
• Monitor sales performance and inventory levels to identify slow-moving and excess inventory, and implement strategies to reduce excess inventory and increase inventory turnover.
• Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, manage product availability, and resolve any issues related to product quality or delivery.
• Conduct regular store visits to ensure proper execution of merchandising plans and provide feedback to retail teams.
• Train and mentor retail teams on merchandising best practices and provide support in implementing merchandising strategies.
• Monitor and report on competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product assortment to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in consumer behavior to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a strong eye for design and visual merchandising.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
• Ability to travel to retail locations as needed.
