Position: Academic Advisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Academic Advisor. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their academic and career goals. You will work closely with students, faculty, and other stakeholders to provide personalized guidance and support throughout their academic journey.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-on-one advising sessions with students to discuss their academic progress, career goals, and course selection
• Assist students in developing academic plans that align with their individual interests, strengths, and long-term goals
• Stay up-to-date on program requirements, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely advising
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address student needs and concerns
• Monitor and track student progress and intervene when necessary to prevent academic difficulties
• Develop and implement workshops and resources to support student academic success
• Participate in orientation programs and other campus events to provide information and guidance to incoming students
• Serve as a liaison between students and academic departments to facilitate communication and resolve issues
• Keep detailed records of advising sessions and maintain confidentiality of student information
• Stay informed about industry and job market trends to provide relevant and current career guidance to students

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of academic policies and procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and student information systems
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
• Passion for helping students achieve their academic and career goals
