Position: Livestock Production Supervisor

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Livestock Production Supervisor to join our team. As a Livestock Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our livestock production facility. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong understanding of livestock management, production processes, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the livestock production facility including managing all aspects of livestock care, feeding, and breeding
• Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of the livestock, ensuring all animals are in good condition and free from illness
• Develop and implement production plans to ensure optimal performance and productivity of the livestock
• Train and supervise a team of production workers, providing guidance and direction to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, production data, and other relevant information
• Work closely with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other industry professionals to ensure best practices are followed in terms of animal care and production methods
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
• Identify and troubleshoot any production issues and implement corrective measures as needed
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in livestock production methods to continuously improve processes and increase productivity

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in livestock production, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of livestock management, breeding, and production processes
• Excellent team management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Proven track record of achieving production targets and improving efficiency
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a livestock production environment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends as needed
