Job Title: Academic Advisor

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as an Academic Advisor. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in guiding and supporting students towards achieving their academic goals. You will be responsible for providing academic guidance, support, and resources to students, as well as fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies.
• Assist students in creating academic plans and setting academic goals.
• Monitor student progress and proactively identify and address any academic concerns.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement academic support programs.
• Conduct individual and group advising sessions to assist students with academic and personal challenges.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Stay updated on current curriculum and academic policies to provide accurate and timely advice to students.
• Participate in workshops and training to enhance advising skills and keep up-to-date with best practices.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of student interactions and advising sessions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Previous experience in academic advising or counseling is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of academic policies and requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively work with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
