Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Academic Advisor to join our dynamic team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students through their academic journey. You will work closely with students to help them make informed decisions about their education, develop academic plans, and navigate any challenges they may encounter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with students on a regular basis to discuss their academic progress, goals, and concerns
• Provide guidance and support to students in selecting courses, majors, and minors
• Assist students in developing personalized academic plans and monitoring their progress towards graduation
• Educate students about academic policies, procedures, and resources available to them
• Collaborate with faculty and other support staff to identify and address students' academic needs
• Conduct academic workshops and information sessions to help students develop essential skills for academic success
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and progress
• Participate in orientation programs and other campus events to provide academic advising to new and prospective students
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in academic advising to continuously improve the services we offer

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field
• At least 2-3 years of experience in academic advising or counseling in a higher education setting
• Familiarity with academic policies, procedures, and resources
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in using technology and student information systems
• Passion for helping students achieve their academic and career goals
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
