Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Position Overview: Our company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all shipping and receiving processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments, ensuring that all items are accurately counted and match the accompanying documentation.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by accurately selecting, packaging, and labeling products in accordance with company guidelines.
• Coordinate with carriers and shipping companies to schedule deliveries and track shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies to management.
• Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure all orders are fulfilled and delivered on time.
• Communicate any shipping or receiving delays or issues to relevant parties and provide solutions to mitigate any potential problems.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to move and store products as needed.
• Keep the shipping and receiving areas clean and organized, ensuring that all products are stored in designated locations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles.
• Proven ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
