Key Responsibilities:

Assess the condition of artwork and develop a conservation plan
Conduct research on the history, materials, and techniques used in creating the artwork
Clean and repair damaged pieces using specialized tools and techniques
Create custom storage and display solutions to protect and preserve artwork
Collaborate with other conservation professionals and curators to ensure proper handling and care of artwork
Maintain detailed records of all conservation treatments and procedures performed
Stay up-to-date with advancements in conservation techniques and technology
Educate and advise clients and colleagues on proper care and handling of artwork
Assist with exhibitions and installations as needed
Adhere to ethical standards and codes of conduct for conservators

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art Conservation, Fine Arts, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Art Conservator, preferably in a museum or gallery setting
Extensive knowledge of art history, materials, and conservation techniques
Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with delicate materials
Familiarity with conservation software and databases
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in a variety of environments
Commitment to ethical standards and preservation of cultural heritage
