Job Overview: As a Localization Specialist at Globe Lingo, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients' content is accurately translated and localized for their target markets. You will be responsible for managing the entire localization process, from project planning and resource allocation to quality assurance and delivery. This is a dynamic role that requires excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and a deep understanding of different languages and cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project managers to develop localization strategies and timelines for each project, taking into account budget, resources, and client requirements.
• Select and manage a team of freelance translators, editors, and proofreaders for each project, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and experience to deliver high-quality translations.
• Review translation and localization work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client specifications and industry standards.
• Communicate with clients to gather project requirements, provide updates on project progress, and answer any questions or concerns.
• Use translation tools and software to manage and track projects, maintain translation memories, and ensure consistency across multiple projects and languages.
• Conduct linguistic and cultural research to ensure that translations are accurate and appropriate for the target audience.
• Develop and maintain glossaries, style guides, and other reference materials to ensure consistency and quality in translations.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in localization to continuously improve processes and workflows.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in localization or translation project management.
• Fluency in at least two languages, including English.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with translation tools and software, such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, or Memsource.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and freelancers from different cultural backgrounds.
• Knowledge of different cultures and their impact on language and communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
