Key Responsibilities:

Advise and assist students with course selection, program requirements, and academic policies and procedures
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of academic programs, course offerings, and resources available to students
Monitor student progress and identify potential academic challenges, providing proactive solutions and interventions
Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure students receive accurate and timely information regarding academic requirements and opportunities
Conduct individual and group advising sessions to support students in their academic and career goals
Assist students in creating academic plans and selecting appropriate courses to meet graduation requirements
Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation of advising sessions
Serve as a resource for students seeking information on internships, study abroad programs, and other academic opportunities
Participate in orientation, registration, and other campus events to provide academic advising services and support student success
Stay current with best practices and trends in academic advising, and continuously seek opportunities for professional development

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, student affairs, or related field
A minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or counseling in a higher education setting
Strong knowledge of academic policies and procedures and experience working with diverse student populations
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Proficiency in using student information systems and other relevant technology
Commitment to promoting student success and a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals
