Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth research and investigation on assigned topics, utilizing a variety of sources such as interviews, public records, and data analysis
Develop and maintain a network of sources to obtain information and leads for investigative stories
Pitch and report on investigative stories that cover a wide range of topics such as politics, business, and social issues
Utilize various tools and techniques, including data analysis and visual storytelling, to enhance the impact and presentation of investigative reports
Work closely with editors, photographers, and videographers to produce high-quality investigative pieces for various platforms including print, online, and social media
Adhere to strict ethical standards and legal requirements while conducting investigations and reporting on sensitive issues
Collaborate with other reporters and departments to share resources and findings for potential joint investigations
Stay updated on current events, trends, and techniques in investigative reporting to continuously improve and innovate our investigative work

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in investigative reporting, preferably in a fast-paced newsroom environment
Strong investigative and research skills with a proven track record of producing impactful stories
Excellent writing and storytelling abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in using various tools and techniques for data analysis and visual storytelling
Knowledge of media laws and ethics, especially in relation to investigative reporting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with sources and colleagues
Willingness to work irregular hours and travel as needed for assignments
