Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a passion for construction materials? Do you have experience in the construction industry and a deep understanding of building materials, their properties, and applications? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!BuildBlox Supplies is seeking a Construction Materials Specialist to join our team. As a Construction Materials Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing all construction materials needed for our projects. You will work closely with our project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for construction materials based on quality, price, and delivery time
• Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and monitor their performance to ensure timely delivery and quality control
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and new products to recommend innovative and cost-effective materials
• Create and maintain a database of approved suppliers, materials, and their specifications
• Review project plans and specifications to determine the required materials and quantities
• Collaborate with project managers to develop material schedules and ensure timely delivery to meet project deadlines
• Monitor inventory levels and prepare purchase orders based on project needs
• Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure all materials meet the required standards
• Manage material deliveries, storage, and distribution to project sites
• Communicate with project managers and contractors to resolve any material-related issues or delays
• Monitor project budgets and costs related to construction materials and provide cost-saving recommendations
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures for all materials on project sites
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of building codes and regulations related to construction materials

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in a materials purchasing or management role
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, their properties, and applications
• Experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations is an asset
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
