Position: Broadcast News Anchor

Location: Kolonia, Micronesia

Salary: Market rate

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, write, and present news stories for live broadcasts and pre-recorded segments
• Conduct interviews with newsmakers, experts, and other relevant guests
• Collaborate with producers and editors to develop compelling story ideas and angles
• Stay updated on current events, both locally and globally, to provide accurate and timely news coverage
• Develop and maintain a strong on-air presence, projecting credibility and authority to our audience
• Adhere to strict ethical and journalistic standards while reporting news stories
• Cultivate relationships with community leaders, sources, and viewers to stay connected with the pulse of the community
• Engage with viewers through social media and other digital platforms to increase audience reach and engagement
• Participate in station events and community outreach initiatives to promote the news brand and build rapport with viewers
• Stay updated on advancements in technology and new media to continuously improve the quality of our broadcasts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a broadcast news anchor
• Proven experience in delivering engaging and captivating live broadcasts
• Strong writing, editing, and on-air presentation skills
• Excellent news judgment and ability to identify compelling and relevant stories
• In-depth knowledge of current events and news industry trends
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle high-pressure situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in social media and digital platforms
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
