Job Title: Library Technology Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Library Technology Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Library Technology Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the implementation and maintenance of technology systems and services within our library. You will collaborate with our librarian team to enhance and improve our library's technology offerings for our patrons.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement technology strategies and solutions to improve library services and operations
• Evaluate and recommend new technology tools and resources to support library functions
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including library management systems, databases, and online resources
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to library technology systems, including network connectivity, software malfunctions, and hardware failures
• Train and assist library staff on the use of technology systems and resources
• Collaborate with other library departments to ensure seamless integration of technology into all aspects of library services
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technology trends and make recommendations for their implementation in the library
• Develop and maintain user guides and instructional materials for library technology systems and services
• Communicate and collaborate with vendors and external partners to support and enhance library technology services
• Participate in library committees and task forces related to technology initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a library technology role
• Strong knowledge of library management systems, databases, and online resources
• Experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Proficient in using various operating systems and software applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
