Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage the deck crew, assigning tasks and ensuring that all duties are performed safely and efficiently
Maintain and operate the ship's navigational equipment, including radar, GPS, and electronic charts
Monitor weather conditions and communicate with the captain to determine the best routes and course corrections
Conduct regular safety drills and ensure that all crew members are trained and prepared to respond to emergencies
Inspect and maintain all deck equipment, including lifeboats, firefighting equipment, and mooring lines
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the ship's hull, decks, and superstructure
Ensure compliance with all international, national, and company regulations and standards
Maintain accurate records of all deck operations, including cargo loading and unloading, fuel consumption, and maintenance tasks
Collaborate with other ship officers to plan and execute all aspects of each voyage, including navigation, cargo operations, and crew management
Train and mentor junior deck officers and crew members to ensure their professional development and growth within the company

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in marine studies, nautical science, or a related field
Minimum of 5 as a Deck Officer in the maritime industry
Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with a Deck Officer endorsement
Proficiency in ship navigation and use of navigational equipment
Strong understanding of maritime regulations and standards, including SOLAS and MARPOL
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations
Physically fit and able to withstand long periods at sea
Willingness to travel and work for extended periods of time on board ships
