Position: Ship Captain

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ship Captain to join our team. As the leader of the ship, the Captain will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, as well as the management of the crew. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maritime operations, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers and crew members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the overall commander of the ship, responsible for all aspects of its operation including navigation, safety, and maintenance
• Ensure compliance with all maritime laws, regulations, and company policies
• Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper distribution and handling
• Communicate effectively with port authorities, crew members, and passengers to ensure a smooth and efficient voyage
• Develop and maintain a voyage plan, taking into account weather conditions, ship capabilities, and other factors
• Monitor and manage the ship's fuel and supplies to ensure adequate levels for the duration of the voyage
• Conduct regular safety drills and training for the crew, and ensure all safety equipment is in good working order
• Maintain accurate records of all voyages, including cargo loaded, fuel consumption, and any incidents or accidents that occur
• Manage and lead a diverse crew, providing guidance and support while fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements in ship technology, and implement changes and improvements as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Ship Captain, with a proven track record of successful voyages and crew management
• Valid Merchant Mariner's Credential and Master's License, issued by the United States Coast Guard
• Extensive knowledge of maritime laws and regulations, as well as international shipping protocols
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to make quick and sound decisions in high-pressure situations
• Physical stamina and agility to handle the demands of the job, including long hours and potential exposure to harsh weather conditions
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
• Willingness to travel for extended periods of time and work on a rotating schedule
