Position: Academic Advisor

About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students throughout their academic journey. You will serve as a mentor and resource for students, providing them with academic and career guidance to help them achieve their goals. Key Responsibilities:

• Advise students on course selection, academic planning, and degree requirements
• Assist students in developing their academic and career goals
• Evaluate students' academic progress and provide guidance to improve their performance
• Coordinate and conduct workshops and information sessions to educate students on academic resources and opportunities
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure students receive the necessary support and resources for academic success
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and academic progress
• Stay updated on university policies, procedures, and academic programs to provide accurate and relevant information to students
• Assist with new student orientation and registration processes
• Act as a liaison between students and various departments to address any academic issues or concerns
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance advising skills and knowledge of best practices in academic advising.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field
• Previous experience in academic advising or counseling is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures
• Familiarity with academic planning tools and resources
• Ability to work with diverse student populations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to students.
