Job Title: Data Storage Network Designer

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Storage Network Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Data Storage Network Designer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data storage networks for our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of storage technologies and network design principles, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data storage networks to support the organization's data storage needs.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and standards for data storage networks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into network design solutions.
• Perform capacity planning and recommend hardware and software upgrades to ensure optimal performance of data storage networks.
• Conduct network performance monitoring and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect data storage networks from cyber threats.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data storage and network technologies, and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
• Work closely with vendors to evaluate new products and negotiate contracts for data storage network equipment and services.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and end-users as needed.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure data storage networks are resilient and can quickly recover from any disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with all data storage network policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data storage networks.
• Strong understanding of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and object storage.
• In-depth knowledge of network design principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
• Proficient in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with cloud storage solutions, such as AWS S3 and Azure Blob Storage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
• Industry certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+, are a plus.
