Outreach and Programming Librarian

Position Title: Outreach and Programming Librarian

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Outreach and Programming Librarian. As an Outreach and Programming Librarian, you will play a crucial role in promoting the library's programs and services to the community, as well as developing and implementing innovative and engaging programming for library patrons of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate outreach programs and events that promote the library's resources and services to the community.
• Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to establish partnerships and expand the library's reach.
• Develop and implement creative and engaging programming for all age groups, including children, teens, and adults.
• Conduct outreach visits to schools, community centers, and other locations to promote library programs and services.
• Create promotional materials, such as flyers and social media posts, to advertise library events and programs.
• Collect and analyze data to measure the success of outreach initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in library outreach and programming, and use this knowledge to enhance the library's offerings.
• Work closely with other library staff to ensure that programming aligns with the library's mission and goals.
• Assist with collection development and maintenance, including selecting materials for programming and recommending updates to the library's collection.
• Provide excellent customer service to library patrons, including assisting with reference and research questions.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a library setting, with a focus on outreach and programming.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse community groups.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Creativity and innovation in developing engaging programming for all age groups.
• Proficiency with technology, including social media, graphic design, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in library outreach and programming.
• Passion for providing exceptional customer service and promoting a love of reading and learning.
