Job Title: Livestock Supervisor
Overview: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Livestock Supervisor to join our team. As the Livestock Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our livestock farm, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills, animal husbandry knowledge, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the care and management of all livestock on the farm, including cattle, pigs, and chickens.
- Develop and implement feeding and breeding programs to maintain the health and productivity of the animals.
- Monitor the health and well-being of the animals, identifying and treating any illnesses or injuries.
- Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, production, and sales.
- Train and supervise farm workers in animal handling and husbandry techniques.
- Ensure that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Plan and coordinate the transportation of livestock to and from the farm.
- Monitor market trends and make recommendations on pricing and sales strategies.
- Collaborate with the farm manager to develop and implement farm policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in livestock management.
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and health.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and data analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
