Position: Production Supervisor - Wood Products

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our wood products manufacturing facility. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the production process, ensuring the highest quality standards are met, and leading a team of production workers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wood products manufacturing and a proven track record of effective team management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines
• Monitor production processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
• Train, mentor, and supervise production workers to ensure a safe and productive work environment
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to employees for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of products
• Monitor inventory levels and work with the purchasing team to ensure adequate supply of raw materials
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and maintain production targets
• Implement and maintain production policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Maintain accurate production records and reports, including production yields, quality control, and labor costs
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Wood Science, Manufacturing, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in wood products manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of production processes, including sawing, milling, and finishing, for various wood products
• Proven experience in managing and leading a team of production workers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software
• Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
