Position: Telecommunications Technician

Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various telecommunications systems, including telephone, internet, and data networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of telecommunications equipment and systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems, including telephone, internet, and data networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with telecommunications equipment and systems.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on telecommunications equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete projects and resolve complex issues.
• Coordinate with customers to schedule installations and service calls.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and equipment serviced.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in telecommunications technology and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working on equipment and systems.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in telecommunications or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a telecommunications technician role.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications equipment and systems, including telephone, internet, and data networks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and be available for on-call rotation.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cable and fiber optic installations.
• Certification in telecommunications systems or equipment.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
